Currently shaking my head at the P4K Mailbag answer to the teen who “wants to be a music writer.” Should have told the poor fool to “have a good backup plan” because “making money” in journalism is a pretty hard thing to do and just being able to “write a lot” (their advice) and string words together in a coherent, artistic fashion still won’t get you enough cash to pay the bills.

Someone who “writes a lot” and “strings words together in a coherent, artistic fashion” that occasionally makes a few hundred bucks off writing a month but still needs a soulless day job (and will eventually need a better paying day job to pay the debt I’m incurring working on my “Music Journalism” masters degree!)
