thekeri replied to your post: I haven’t heard all Sonic Youth records as they have a ton, but from I’ve heard and I’ve heard like 5 albums, I think the best has to go to Bad Moon Rising…Daydream Nation is great, but Bad Moon Rising is such a mood and such a madness.

I’ve come to like Washing Machine a lot.

Washing Machine has some gems, as does Experimental Jetset. Those post-Goo albums (despite what mean anon comments says) really don’t get brought up in SY conversation much these days. Sure, they might have been “successful” when they came out — and I’d hardly call something that Entertainment Weekly loved released on a major label a “success”; it didn’t sell remarkably well, and who uses EW as a barometer of taste? — but when people discuss SY, it’s always Daydream, EVOL, Sister and never anything else.

I stand by my assertion that Dirty is severely overlooked. I like it better than Goo, and sometimes, more than Daydream. (Blasphemy! I know!)
